Donald Robert Brieske, 77, Town of Prentice, died in the Aspirus Medford Hospital in Medford on Saturday, June 14, 2014. He was born in La Crosse on July 21, 1936, the son of Norman and Vera (Tibbets) Brieske. He was a 1956 graduate of the Janesville Senior High, and attended Wisconsin State University-Whitewater. He served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. He was married to Beatrice “Bea” Erickson in the Ogema Baptist Church on May 18, 1963. He was employed by General Motors Corporation in Jamesville as an Auto Worker until the time of his retirement in 1991. In 1992 he and Bea moved to their home in the Town of Prentice. He was a member of the Ogema Baptist Church, and of the United Auto Workers, Local 95. In his free time he enjoyed golf, bowling, and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; by three brothers, Richard (Karen), Janesville, WI, Norman (Nancy), Ontario, WI, and Robert (Nicky), Delevan, WI; by two stepbrothers, Robert and William; by two stepsisters, Diane and Patricia; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; by his stepfather, Robert Peterson; and by one sister, Mary Ann Henning.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Ogema Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Price and Pastor Don Rhody officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Southern Price County V.F.W. Post 8491. Internment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday.
