DONN ALLEN WILLIAMS
Donn A. Williams, 77, Phillips, passed away on Friday, October 12,2018 at his home while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice and his family. He was born on July 30, 1941, in Phillips, the son of Glenn and Eleanor (Bendixen) Williams.
He attended and graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1959.
Donn served his country in the U.S. Army in the United States and France from Feb. 1960 to Feb 1963.
He was married to Carol Casey on Feb. 2, 1963, in Granite City, Ill., They later divorced. He then married Kathleen Behrens on June 4, 1983 in Phillips.
He was employed in Milwaukee in manufacturing until returning to the Phillips area in the fall of 1963. While in Phillips he was employed by Lionite Hardboard as well as part time by the Price County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy, from 1963 to 1966.he then was the owner/operator of Donn’s Service Station until 1971. From 1971 until the time of his retirement in 2001 he was employed by Phillips Plastics Corporation as the Customer Service Manager.
In his free time he was an avid fisherman and a hobby farmer of a wide variety of animals.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen, Phillips by 1 son Jeff (Christie) Williams, Phillips, by 1 daughter Tracy (Dean) Hand, Marenisco, Mich., by 2 Step Daughters: Beth Motsinger, Sterling, Ill., and Dawn (Jeremy) Albright, Plainfield, Ill., by 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters: Lois (Bob) Brunelli, Bristol, Tenn., Jean (Bill) Byington, Wonewoc, Wi., and Karen (Dale) Meives, Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents
A private family service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, with Rev. Margaret Grant officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post #5778 and the Lane-Kreiling American Post #122, both of Phillips.
A celebration of Donn’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at the Elk Lake Pavilion in Phillips.
A memorial fund has been established.
Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
