Donna A. Wegner

November 10, 1945 — January 28, 2014

Donna Wegner, 68, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, January 28,2014 at her home in Woodruff, WI. She was born November 10, 1945 in South Milwaukee, WI to Tony and Agnes Salentine of New Berlin, WI. She graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1963 and married John Wegner on September 19, 1964. They gave birth to their daughter, Mary Ann, on August 1, 1967. Donna and her family have been residents of the Lakeland Area since 1981, formerly living in Muskego, WI. As well as being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Donna held many jobs throughout her lifetime, including cashier work, secretarial work, and her most favorite job as a clerk at the BP gas station south of Minocqua (or as she called it, "the station"). Through her many careers, she most enjoyed meeting people and making new friends; sharing stories and overall general banter. When she retired, it always made her happy to run into former customers, even if just to say hi. When she was not working, she was a very avid reader, always finding herself wrapped up in a good book. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. Donna is survived by her loving and loyal husband John, her daughter Mary Ann,grandchildren Bobby (Bri) Knox and Katie Knox (loving friend Orlando Roman), sister Gloria Gestl (Tom Schlindwein), brothers Harvey Salentine and Wally (Marilyn) Salentine, brothers-in-law Richard (Jane) Wegner, Ed (Bonnie) Wegner, and Jeff (Donna) Wegner, sisters-in-law Peggy Salentine, Marieanne Salentine, and Virginia Wegner, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Roy Salentine and John Salentine, and brother-in-law Donald Wegner. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Rock of Ages Church in Minocqua, WI with Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the church. Services were officiated by Pastor Ken Albers. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be given to Rock of Ages Lutheran Church to assist with building projects.
