Doris J. Blixt, age 84, 720 E. Kings Road, Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk.
Doris was born February 18, 1923 in Milwaukee to Leonard and Pearl (Golke) Curtis. She married Maurice Blixt on June 13, 1964 in Milwaukee; he passed away in 1997. Doris was raised in the Milwaukee area and later lived in Calumet City, Illinois. She had been a resident of the Tomahawk area since 1978. She enjoyed music, playing golf, and had a special love of children - raising 4 generations of children. She was active with various women's civic clubs. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Doris is further survived by 24 grandchildren - especially close to her were Leslie (Nick) Reuter of Tomahawk and Erik Reuter of New Orleans, both of whom she raised from infancy. She is also survived by many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son and 2 brothers.
Funeral Services for Doris Blixt will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
