Doris M. Collins, age 85, 621 W. Leather Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Merrill.
Doris was born July 13, 1927 in Wausau, the daughter of Wilbur and Adelia (Tesch) Menebroeker. She married Richard 'Dick' Collins on October 9, 1956 in Illinois. Doris was employed with Georgia Pacific for 23 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and was past commander of the DAV Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include, husband, Dick Collins, Tomahawk, sons, Jim (Sheri) Luse, Rhinelander, John (Diane) Luse, Merrill, Duane Luse, Madison, step daughter, Leah Shomada, Cheba, Japan, brothers, Carl (Gail) Menebroeker, Tomahawk, Victor Menebroeker, Michigan, sister, Mary McHugh, Milwaukee. Doris is further survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Leonard and John, and a sister, Ann Hoganson.
A Memorial Service for Doris Collins will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Harvey Jaeger and Rev. Don Cannady will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
