Dorothy M. Hanish, 92, of Phillips, passed away on September 26, 2024, at Park Manor Nursing Home, in Park Falls, WI. She was born on November 27, 1931, to Carl and Milred (Pisca) McBride in Phillips, WI.

Dorothy was born in Phillips, her family relocated to Chicago for a short period of time. They came back home to the Northwoods where Dorothy finished high school. She married Lorry on November 17, 1953. They had celebrated 69 years of marriage before Lorry’s passing. They had three sons, Carl, Pete, and Tim. She was a busy housewife in addition to her many jobs in the community. She was an active member of the Phillips City Council for many years. She enjoyed cooking, embroidering, and visiting with her friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Peter E. (Jackie), Tim M. (Susan Roush); grandchildren, Shayna (Andy) Wild, Kyle J., Brad (Laura) Roush, Brent Roush, and Sarah (Kenny) Roush; and great-grandchild, Tripp Wild; sisters, Connie Kochi and Mildred Trzecinski.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Lorry; oldest son, Carl; infant great-granddaughter, Angel Marie; her parents; and brother Carl JR.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 655 S. Lake Ave, Phillips, WI, 54555. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the start of mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Phillips. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
