Dorothy Mae Dalton passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Seasons of Life Hospice Center in Woodruff Wisconsin. She was born on September 13, 1940 to the late Louis and Elnora Stuenkel in Joliet, IL, and she attended Rich East High School in Park Forest, IL. She married Charles Dalton in 1961. They made a home together in Matteson, IL where they had two children, Beth and Craig.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, traveling and spending time with family. She was an avid crafter and made many friends during the hours she spent selling homemade goose clothes and other pieces at craft fairs. A farm girl from Illinois, Dorothy never lost her knack of a green thumb. Her entire summer was often spent in the gardens that she planted and grew around her house. Dorothy was very close with her family. Her greatest joys were her four grandchildren and she always had home-baked treats to spoil the grandkids with. Dorothy spent the majority of her life in the southern suburbs of Chicago. In her later years, she moved into the Minocqua area where she continued with her love of sewing by joining a local quilting group. In Minocqua, she was also able to spend more time watching grandchildren in sporting and school events.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her brothers, Harold, Ronald, and Larry, as well as her parents. She is survived by sisters, Arlene and Debra, her children, Beth (Ken Peplowski), Craig (Maureen) Dalton, four grandchildren: Virginia (Josh Then), Anna, Colleen, and Lucas Dalton, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be sorely missed.
