Douglas "Doug" Thomas Goldstein, age 64, passed away quietly on Sunday, June 2nd, 2013. Doug was a longtime resident of Tomahawk, having moved there from Irma. He was born in Toledo, Ohio and raised in Chicago. He held a number of different jobs during his life and his most enjoyable was that of a clock repairer, for which he had a natural gift. Doug was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1970 after two-plus tours in Vietnam where he served as a searchlight operator supporting artillery operations for the 25th Infantry Division. Doug was a lifelong automotive enthusiast and one of his most cherished possessions is a 1965 Harley-Davidson motorcycle which he had restored. Doug is survived by his parents, Don and Marylin Goldstein of Crown Point, Indiana; his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Suzanne Goldstein of Crimora, Virginia; and his niece, Amy Goldstein, of Charlottesville, Virginia. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially those lucky enough to experience his generosity or his unusually sharp wit and sense of humor. A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home at 11:00AM with full military honors. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
