EDGAR MICHAEL DeLEASKY
Edgar M.DeLeasky, 88, Phillips, died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips.
He was born on February 5, 1930, in Phillips, the son of Michael and Minnie (Schwiekert) DeLasky. He spent his entire life in the Phillips area. He attended the Dover School in Emery. He began working at an early age due to the death of his father. He was employed as a logger, did clearing for the powerlines, worked on his families farm as well as other farms in the area, and then with his brother Melvin began DeLeasky Bros. Excavating and Logging, for man years prior to his retirement. They were joined by Edgar’s oldest son Ron in the business in the 1970’s.
He was married to Jeanette Schmidtke on August 18, 1951, in Park Falls. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2017.
He was actively involved in St. John Lutheran Church, Phillips, and in many community affairs, enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. He could always be counted upon to help when asked.
He is survived by his children: Ron (Janet) Joyce (Dale) Grant, and Pete(Shannon), all of Phillips, Wayne (Melissa Bellavary), Elk Mound, Wi., , by 9 Grandchildren: Travis (Karen) Chad (Natalie) Lindsay DeLeasky, Ross Grant, Ashley Grant, Katie Reinke, Joseph and Benjamin DeLeasky and Dakota (Tonya) DeLeasky, by 12 great grandchildren, by 4 sisters: Arlene Elmer, Park Falls, Marion DeLeasky, Phillips Judy Duhr, Fifield, Jean (Lee) Belan, Phillips, by 4 brothers Melvin :Butch: (Marion) Phillips, Michael (Violet) Ashland, Allan (Nila) Prentice and Robert (Ann), Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Jeanette, by 1 sister Mildred Bazatta, and by 3 Brothers-in-Law.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M.on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Phillips, with Pastor Glenn Sokolowski officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Emery Cemetery, Emery Township.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
