EDITH ELEANOR WICKLUND
Edith Eleanor Wicklund, 87, Prentice, died in the GL Continental Manor in Abbotsford on Thursday, April 9, 2015. She was born on January 1, 1928, in Mayville, NY, the daughter of Alfred and Edith Christensen .She was married to Robert Wicklund in Cambridge, MN, on December 20, 1946. They moved to Prentice in 1948. She was employed by the Prentice CO-OP Store for a number of years, and operated Ellie’s Greenhouse in Prentice for 30 years. She was an Active member of the First Lutheran Church of Prentice and of the church choir, was a member of the Prentice Women’s Club, and was a Charter Member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491. She played violin in the school orchestra, and in her free time she enjoyed bowling, was a die hard Cub Fan, enjoyed roller skating, participating in community musicals, and just loved having her hands in the dirt.
She is survived by four children, Karen K. Granberg, Prentice, Bob (Sandy), Maple Park, IL, Cindy (Peter) Heikkinen, Prentice, and Jean Hill, Tripoli; by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; by one brother, Edwin Christensen, Owen/Withee, Wisconsin; and by one sister, Ellen (Jack) Moffatt, Alamogordo, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on July 14, 1999; by two brothers, and by one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 12, at the First Lutheran Church in Prentice with Pastor Richard Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Prentice Cemetery in Prentice. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services.
