Edward Anton Schircely, age 93 of Minocqua, WI and formerly of Milwaukee, WI died on Saturday, March 10th at Avanti Health and Rehab in Minocqua, WI. Edward was born on February 2, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Peter and Elizabeth (nee Jvan) Schircely. Ed graduated from Milwaukee Boy’s Tech High School.
Ed was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater U.S. Navy. Retired from the Wisconsin Air National Guard 128th Air refueling Wing. Ed was also a retired Milwaukee Police Officier after 33 years of service. Ed was commander of the Milwaukee Composite Squadron 1 of the Civil Air Patrol and member of the VFW Post Cudahy 2895, Sloga member, co-director of the Genii Organ Club and Police Retirement association.
He enjoyed bowling, playing bolina, playing and teaching the organ and flying.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurel (Ken) Winderl and son, David (Anita) Schircely and by grandchildren; Kirk Winderl and Karl (Jessica) Winderl and by great-grandchildren; Landon, Layla, Ava and Adalynn Winderl and was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Iris and his parents.
Upon his wishes, cremation took place and Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 4th at 12:00 Noon at Schmidt-Bartelt Funeral Home in Milwaukee, WI with a gathering from 10:00 AM till time of service. Inurnment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
