Edward 'Mike' Bailey, age 72, 822 Charlene Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his residence under Ministry Home Hospice Care.
Mike was born August 8, 1940 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of James F. and Edith (Sandstrom) Bailey, Jr. He married Mary Ziemnick on February 27, 1965 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He graduated in 1966 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. Following graduation, he and Mary moved to Tomahawk, where he began his 31 year career with what was formerly known as the Wisconsin Conservation Department, and retired from what is currently known as the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in 1997. Mike was appointed to the City of Tomahawk Park Board, and served as president for fifteen years. He also served as a member of the Zoning and Planning Board and as the City of Tomahawk Forester during that same period. Mike was active with the Tomahawk Jaycees and served several terms as chapter chairman. He was elected to two terms on the Tomahawk School Board, and served as treasurer.

Mike is further survived by four wonderful grandsons, Ty, Jake, Brian, and Hunter.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mike Bailey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Edward Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home on Thursday, October 25th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
