Father Edward F. Beutner, 67, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at John Muir Hospital, Concord, California.
He was born March 26, 1940, son of Victor and Peg Beutner. Father Ed was ordained to the priesthood May 1965 in the Superior Diocese, where he served as assistant pastor and pastor in different parishes.
Father Ed received a Master's Degree in Theology at St. Louis University and a PhD at GTU in Berkeley. He taught at De LaSalle High School, Walnut Creek, California, at which time he became a published author. In recent years, he was very active in the Jesus Seminar Tours.
Survivors are his loving family: brothers and sisters: Victor Beutner, Wausau, Marge (Roger) Crass, Slinger, George (Donna) Beutner, Roseville, CA, Bernie Beutner, Milwaukee, Jeanie (Ron) Crass, Tomahawk, Joe (Terri) Beutner, Irma, 16 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews, many of whom Father Ed baptized and/or married.
Father Ed was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ann Kathleen Beutner.
Funeral Services were held in Walnut Creek, CA. The family is planning a memorial service to be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk at a later date.
