Edward H. Dombrowski, 89 years young, departed suddenly June 18, 2007 at his residence on Lake Nokomis, leaving his loving wife Chesterine 3 days before their 66th wedding anniversary.
Ed was born May 10, 1918 in Stevens Point to John and Eleanore (Ostrowski) Dombrowski. He married Chesterine Sopa on June 21, 1941 in Fancher. Ed was a Steamfitter with General Electric/Hotpoint in Milwaukee for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Following his retirement, he moved to Tomahawk, where he was an active member of the Lake Nokomis Concerned Citizens, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing horseshoes. Ed was a Veteran of the 30th Air Service Squadron Army, serving in WWII. He was the on call handyman for all who needed him.
Greeted on the other side by sons-in-law Dave Owsianny, Rich Truss, and Michael Maher. Greatly loved father of Marlene (Dennis) Tessenske, Jean Owsianny, Sharon (Mark) Smith, Kathy (Tom) Bodi, Mary Maher, and Linda (Gordie) Hagestad. Cherished grandfather of Todd (Christine) Tessenske, Tracie (Greg) Schoone, Jeff (Sharon) Owsianny, Ryan (Katy) Owsianny, Kyle, Carly Jo, and Kailyn (Jake) Smith, Rick, Matt, and Kari Truss, Jessie and Joe Maher, Greg and Michael Hagestad. Honored great grandfather of Zach, Luke, Taylor, Richie, Gio nni, and Paula. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ed Dombrowski will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2007 from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. A Veteran Service will precede Mass. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m.
Ed will be waiting for us on a new "Polish General" in heaven.
