Elaine V. Polz, age 76, of 15 W. Rice Ave., Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.
Elaine was born on April 11, 1931 in Oak Park, Illinois to Leonard and Lillian Beckers. She was united in marriage to Charles V. Polz on May 19, 1951 in the Chicago area, Chuck preceded her in death in 1984. Elaine and her husband owned and operated the Paint Pail in Tomahawk for 26 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and traveling. She had been active at the Tomahawk Area Senior Center and an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. She had been a Sunday School Teacher for over 20 years, a member of the Altar Guild and part of the quilting group at Grace. Most of all, Elaine, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

2 Daughters, Susan (Wayne) Mielke Tomahawk Deborah (John) Case Wausau
6 Grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, and Michelle Mielke. Rebecca, Jessica, and Erica Case.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chuck and one brother, Robert Beckers.
Funeral Services for Elaine Polz will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends at the Krueger & Sons Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 am until the time of services at 11.
