Eleanor Marcella “Dolly” Peterson, age 85, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Milestone Senior Living under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1930, in Deerfield, the daughter of Christ and Anna Arndt. She married Lyle Peterson on Sept. 9, 1950. Dolly loved being surrounded by family and friends. She touched many lives with her generosity and kindness. Dolly was an excellent cook and her home was always open to family and friends for conversation and a meal. She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and a good game of euchre.
Dolly is survived by her children Kevin Peterson of Madison and Mark (Laurie) Peterson of Tomahawk, two granddaughters, Kari Utecht, and Callie Hempfer; grandson, Christopher Peterson; two great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Pam Odegaard and Heather Felser. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle; son, Thomas Peterson; daughter, Susan Utecht; three brothers; and five sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at MILESTONE SENIOR LIVING, HARLEY ROOM, 314 E. Lincoln Ave., Tomahawk, at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2016. Friends may call at Milestone from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Food and refreshments will follow. Krueger Family Funeral Home is assisting.
In addition, a funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, with a luncheon to follow. Burial at Sunset Memory Gardens will follow the luncheon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
