Kemēwan Elianna Louise Wolfe was born on March 31st, 2021 at 23 weeks gestation. After fighting courageously for nine days, on April 9th, our Kemēwan passed way peacefully in her parents’ arms at the Marshfield Children’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin. During that fleeting time, she touched the hearts of many and was loved and adored by all who met her.
When she was born, she weighed only 1 pound, 6 oz. Despite being so little, our Kemēwan was still able to grip her daddy’s finger and respond to her mother’s touch during her brief stay on earth. She had her dad’s big hands and feet and the acclaimed Pyawasit nose.
Kemēwan Elianna Louise is survived by her mother and father, Dante Wolfe and Ashley Bruette, her grandparents, Angela Bruette, Randy Adkins, Katie Layne, Vincent Wolfe and Cheyenne Pyawasit. She is further survived by her great-grandparents Julie Bruette, Myron and Doris Pyawasit, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kemēwan Elianna Louise was preceded in death by many loved ones, most notably her great-uncle Gii-shik and great-great grandparents Louis and Edith Bruette.
Traditional Native American services will begin in Lac du Flambeau on April 9th and will conclude on April 12th. The family would like to thank the Marshfield Hospital NICU staff, especially Nurse Micki, for their efforts and dedication in our little girl’s fight.
