Elvin 'Al' Braman, age 78, 427 N. 6th St., Tomahawk, passed away June 11, 2013 at his residence under Ministry Home Hospice Care.
Al was born June 6, 1935 in McCord, the son of Elvin M. and Myrtle (Brand) Braman. He married Dawn Byholm on June 28, 1956 in Superior. Al attended the State Teacher's College, which is now known as UW - Superior, and received his degree in physics and chemistry. He received his Master's Degree from the University of North Dakota. He began his 35 year teaching career at Tomahawk High School in 1958, and taught general science, chemistry, geology, astronomy, and physics. He retired in 1994. Al was an accomplished leather craftsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota, and astronomy.
Survivors include, wife, Dawn Braman, Tomahawk, children, Corrine (Paul) Schoone, Tomahawk, Becki (Terry) Fairfield, Machesney Park, Illinois, Dave (Judi) Braman, Mineola, Texas.
Al is further survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother - Milton.
According to Al's wishes, no services will be held.
