Ervin A Van Strydonk

Ervin A. Van Strydonk, age 82, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at his home in Harrison. Erv was born on April 22, 1933 in Tomahawk, to Alphonse & Eleanor Van Strydonk. He married Jean Schoone in Harrison on July 9, 1955. Erv was a jack of all trades. He worked as a farmer and a carpenter before opening Erv's Sales and Service, with his wife Jean, in 1969. In 1980, along with his son, Jim, started Van Strydonk Construction. He was a member of the KC's, he enjoyed playing baseball before becoming a coach for pony league and county league. Erv loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and especially his Canada trips. Above all things that Erv loved to do, his greatest pride was his family. Survivors include; Wife, Jean of Tomahawk 4 Daughters, Mary (Bob) Smith of Tomahawk Jo Ann (Larry) Lemmens of Rhinelander Kathy (Mark) Voermans of Tomahawk Nancy (Mike) Swan of Tomahawk 4 Sons, Jim (Carol) Van Strydonk of Tomahawk Mark (Denise) Van Strydonk of Tomahawk Larry (Linda) Van Strydonk of Tomahawk Alan (Stephanie) Van Strydonk of Tomahawk Brother, Roger (Joyce) Van Strydonk of Tomahawk Sister, Delores DuPlayee of Tomahawk Further survived by his grandchildren; Kyle, Sadie, Valerie, Derek, Nathan, Heidi, Mitch, Cole, Beau, Erin, Jordyn, Nicholas, Troy, Sarah and Craig; 12 great grandchildren with another on the way. Erv is preceded in death by his brother, Dick; his sisters, Helen Reese, Romaine Morren & Phyllis Stillman. The Mass of Christian Burial for Erv Van Strydonk will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Harrison. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. Visitation will take place at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM with a vigil service at 7:00PM. The visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of mass at 11:00AM. Burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in Harrison. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary's Legacy Fund or St. Augustine Parish c/o Carpet Fund are appreciated. Krueger Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
