ETHEL HANISH
Ethel Mae Hanish, 88, former Phillips Resident, died in the Waterford of Wisconsin Rapids in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 26, 1929, the daughter of Walter and Julia (Newbury) LaRose. She was a 1950 graduate of the Phillips High School. She was married to Richard Hanish in Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Phillips on November 15, 1952. She was employed the DelMonte Canning Factory in Plover for a number of years. In her free time she enjoyed camping, reading, crossword puzzles, and was a real animal lover.
She is survived by seven children, Richard (Kay), Nekoosa, WI, Joseph, Medford, Teresa Olvera, Abbotsford, WI, Deborah, Wausau, Lori Ann (Donald) Hart, Granton, WI, Vernard (Becky), Marshfield, and Julia, Loyal, WI; by 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; and by one sister, Edith Franchina, Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on September 6, 1996; and is also preceded in death by one son, James; and by two brothers, Vernard LaRose and Walter LaRose.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips on Saturday, November 25, with Deacon James Celba officiating. Internment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
