Eugene L. "Binder" Kind, age 87, of 120 Charlotte Street, Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Wausau Aspirus Hospital following a brief illness.
Binder was born on August 5, 1928 in Tomahawk to Harry and Hazel (Polege) Kind. He attended Fulsher School and one year of High School in Tomahawk, the family then moved to Washington where he graduated from high school in 1946. He served his country during World War II in the US Army. He was released from the service and married Dorothy Morren on June 10, 1950 in Tomahawk. Binder was recalled to the Army for a year during the Korean War. He started employment in Tomahawk and Milwaukee for National Container Corporation and Owens Illinois in sales and later sales Service Manager. In 1963 Binder and Dorothy returned to Tomahawk where he worked for Wisconsin Public Service as Customer Service Representative for 26 years, he retired in 1990. He was a past member of the Tomahawk Masonic Lodge for 42 years, the Zor Shrine for 19 years, he was a recipient of the Mason of the Year award. Binder was always giving back to his community, he was active with the Salvation Army Backpack program, Grace Lutheran Church, VFW, American Legion, and he enjoyed visiting shut ins and nursing home residents with his dog Ginger. Binder received Tomahawks' Distinguished Service Award in 2013 for his commitment to serving our community. He enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing, and deer hunting at the shack in New Wood.

Binder is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bill Steigerwaldt and a great grandson, Vanden Potter.
Funeral services with Military rites for Eugene Binder Kind will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Ziemer will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home Sunday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and again at the church on Monday morning from 10 am until the time of services at 11.
