EVELYN ‘EVIE’ HANSON
Evelyn “Evie” Hanson, 69, Town of Elk, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at the Flambeau Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on May 2, 1946, in Superior, Wi., the daughter of Wayne and Helmi (Granlund)) Lahti. She spent her early life and schooling in Brule. She attended and graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, Wi.
She was married to LeRoy Hanson on August 29, 1969, in Iron River, Wi., He preceded her in death on April 7, 2015. She was employed at various occupations including working with the Baillie Oil Co., in Brule, Wi., she and her husband LeRoy then owned and operated Hanson OK Hardware in Iron River, Wi., and then at Phillips Plastics Corp, Phillips, prior to her retirement.
In her free time she was an avid bowler and enjoyed snowmobiling.She was a member of the Womens Bowling League and the Chapparral Snowmobile Club.
She is survived by 2 sons: Troy Hanson, Phillips, Darren (Laurie) Hanson, Iron River, Wi., by 2 grandchildren Andrew and Addison Hanson, and by 1 sister Donna (Rob) Miller, Maple, Wi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband LeRoy and by 2 sisters: Shirley Lightfoot and Irene Courtney.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangmements.
