Peacefully at home with family by her side and the Holy Spirit in her heart, Florence Charlotte Teeters passed to eternal glory on October 31, 2022, at 107 years old. She will be remembered for her unwavering Christian faith, sharp wit, quest for adventure, enjoyment of a good dose of chaos, and love of desserts, especially ice cream. We rejoice that she is now reunited with her husband, Lyle, her parents, and her 13 siblings and their spouses.
A graduate of County Normal School of Price County, Florence taught grade school in Emery, WI. Many years later, she retired as a civilian employee of the 440th Airlift Wing for the U.S. Air Force Reserves in Milwaukee. Florence later also retired from Software and Services in Shreveport, LA, where she helped her sons’ business with office tasks and by keeping the employees going with a steady supply of oatmeal cookies.
Left to celebrate her life are her children - Larry (Diana) Teeters, Janet (the late Willie) May, Tom (Julie) Teeters, Greg Teeters, and Bill (Lynne) Teeters. She was adored by grandchildren - Leslie (Jimmy) McCormack, Tammy (Dean) Herro, Holly (Jason) Reynolds, Terri (Jonathan) Lisowski, Kori (Kris) Mayer, and Eric (Jasmine) Teeters. Stories of their dochen and eggs zu pan making Great-Grandma Teeters will be told by Allyson (Matt) Herro, Daniel (Lauren) Herro, Eva Reynolds, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Cullen, Isabella, Quinten, Josette and Sienna Lisowski, Riley, Payton and Brooklynne Teeters, and Charlotte Mayer. Kellan Herro will be told many stories about his G3, who wanted to give him lots of gifts and an apple tree. Many beloved nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Florence was born into a large family and later raised her own children on a tight budget. As she spoke often of wanting to make sure everyone always has enough to eat, donations to your local food bank are much appreciated in lieu of flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 18, at Saint John Lutheran Church in Phillips. Visitation at the church on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will be in the Lakeside II Cemetery in Phillips. Luncheon with ice cream appetizer to follow services.
