Florence Fries

Florence Fries, age 92, 720 E. Kings Road, Tomahawk, passed away November 10, 2009 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk. Florence was born September 26, 1917 in North Prairie, Wisconsin, the daughter of Llewelyn and Florence (Johnson) Wheelock. She married Frank Larsen on October 12, 1940 in Beloit; he passed away February 22, 1960. She later married Raymond Fries on June 18, 1960 in Beloit; he passed away June 19, 1985. Florence spent most of her life in the Beloit, Wisconsin area. She later moved to Wausau, and then to Tomahawk in 2007. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Bowling Club in Beloit. She enjoyed doing embroidery work, word finds, and bingo. She loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: 3 daughters Kathie Larsen Tomahawk Donna (Wilfred) Rule Wausau Dee (Glenn) Crass Tomahawk Florence is further survived by 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husbands - Frank and Raymond, 5 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 half-sister. A Graveside Service for Florence Fries will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 13, 2009 from Floral Lawn Cemetery in South Beloit, Illinois.
