Florence LaFond

Florence LaFond, age 86, of N9396 LaFond Rd, Tomahawk, passed away Friday afternoon at the Golden Living-Golden Age in Tomahawk. She was born April 16, 1921 in Wausau to the late Martin and Elizabeth Smith and was married to Francis J. LaFond on July 22, 1939 in Tomahawk, he passed away in February of 2007. She had moved from Wausau to Tomahawk in 1937. Florence loved her flower gardens, fishing in Canada and on the Great Lakes and most of all, enjoyed her family. Survivors include: 1 daughter- Patricia LaFond Tomahawk 1 son- Francis "Frenchy" (Fran) LaFond Tomahawk 2 brothers- Anthony Smith Green Bay Daniel (Beverly) Smith Hazelhurst Florence is further survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, a grandson, and 2 sisters. A Memorial Mass for Florence LaFond will be held at 11:00 Thursday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the Church Thursday morning from 10:00 until the hour of services at 11:00. The Krueger and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
