FRANCES WITKOWSKI
Frances Witkowski, beloved mother of Diane (Alan) Barkstrom and Thomas Witkowski was called to her eternal home on October 12th , 2017, at Aspirus Pleasant View in Phillips. She was born on November 8, 1925, and raised in Oak Creek, WI, and lived there most of her life. She worked for many years on her parents truck (Vegetable) farm and then at Lucas Milhaupt, a Handy & Harmon Company in Cudahy, WI, until the time of her retirement. She earned recognition there for her work ethic and many innovational ideas. She married Henry Witkowski and later divorced.
Francie was known for her many artistic talents, including needlecrafts, drawing, and hair styling. She was known as the “flower Lady” for her lush beautiful flower gardens. Her Christmas candy and cookies were enjoyed by many. Family was always her special joy. She loved to read and knew all the answers to Jeapordy and did the New York crossword puzzle.
She was [preceded in death by her parents, sister, two brothers, daughter Antonette, and son Duane. She is survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.
A celebration of life was held on her 92nd birthday, November 8th, at the Forest Hill Chapel in Oak Creek. Francie’s family wants to thank the many people that touched her life and cared for her in Phillips at Aspirus.
The Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips assisted the family with arrangements.
