Gary “Butch” L. Daniel, age 77, of Barronett, WI, and formerly of Herbster and Clear Lake, WI, died on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips, WI. Butch was born September 12, 1939, in clear Lake, WI, the son of Charles and Lucille (Kennetz) Daniel. He grew up in this area and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1957. Butch enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as an airplane mechanic with an air squadron attached to the USS Ranger from June 1957 to September 1960. Butch married Connie Helstern on December 7, 1963, at the first Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, WI. In the first years of their marriage they moved often before settling in Graytown near Reeve, WI. Together they raised seven children and also helped raise several foster children. After 13 years in Greytown, Butch and Connie moved their family to Herbster where he began his career as a DNR Park Ranger at Big Bay State Park, Madeline Island, WI. Butch and Connie retired in Barronett, WI, ans spent their Winters in Bay City, TX, until Connie passed away in 2013. Butch enjoyed fishing, family, and his beloved dog, Gussy Russell. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Children –Kelli (Keith) Colalillo, Rockport, TX, Sam (Philip) Beighley, Bloomer, WI, Cory (Penny), Bay City, TX, Mandy (Tracy) Prill, Phillips, WI, Shelby (Scott) Luoma, Yorkville, IL, Dennis, Washington, IL, and Michael, Washburn, WI; by grandchildren Corinne, Kimberly, Bruce, Cassidy, Aaron, Amanda, Alaina, Alicia, Alex, Ethan, Benjamin, and LeAnn; by great grandchildren Hayden, Daelan, Wyllow, Sealy, Owen, and Madeline; by foster children, Dawn, Sheila, and Missy; by two sisters; Lois Campion, and Kathryn McCann; by one brother, Kevin; and by one sister-in-law, Jeanette. He was preceded to heaven by his beloved wife Connie; by his [parents; by two brothers Charles and David; and by one sister, Joyce.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Butch at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 6th, at the Clear Lake Park Pavilion on Maple Knoll Drive, Clear Lake, WI.
