Gary P. Weller

Gary P. Weller, age 66, of Brookfield and Tomahawk, died unexpectedly on October 21, 2013 at his Tomahawk residence. Gary was born January 14, 1947 in Milwaukee, the son of Elyart and Anna (Sandgren) Weller. He married Sandra Haasch on October 20, 1973 in Sussex, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this past Sunday. Gary had a 30 year career in the military, and first enlisted with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his tour of duty, he served with the 1st Battalion 121st Field Artillery National Guard. He retired as Brigade Command Sergeant Major of the 57th Field Artillery. Gary was a current member and Judge Advocate of the Menomonee Falls Memorial Post 9496, and a member of the American Legion Post 382. He was formerly employed for 32 years with the School of Continuing Education at UW-Milwaukee, retiring in 2007. He was past president of the Lamplighter Homeowners Association, and was on the 2020 and 2040 taskforce for the City of Brookfield. Gary was a self-taught master woodworker and a perfectionist in all aspects of his life, and proudly built his cabin on Killarney Lake in Tomahawk. For the past 6 years, he enjoyed spending the summer months at his cabin in the northwoods. Gary is survived by his wife, Sandee Weller, of Brookfield and Tomahawk, and many other family and friends. A Funeral Service with full Military Honors for Gary Weller will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of the Chimes on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at 12:00 noon.
