George Franklin Cross Jr, 73, Phillips, Town of Worcester, died in the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was born in Portage, Wisconsin, on January 16, 1944, the son of George and Evelyn Cross Sr. He was married to Lucia Lampitelli on October 1, 1964, in Italy. He served his country in the United States Navy for 23 years. Following his military service he was employed by Wilmar Electric until the time of his retirement. He attended Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and maintaining his yard and property.
He is survived by his wife, Lucia; by one daughter, Antonietta (James) Markley, Chesapeake, VA; by one son, Ettore Lampitelli, Naples, Italy; by four grandchildren, Tiffany, Natasha, Jessica, and Francisico; by great grandchildren; and by one brother-in-law, Frank Kratz, Dalton, WI. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Gemma; and by one sister, Frances Kratz.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 26, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Military honors will be conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778.
