GERALD C. JOHNSON
Gerald C. “Sonny” Johnson, 82, Brantwood, died in the GL Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk on Wednesday, December 23, while under the loving care of the nursing home staff and Asera Care Hospice. He was born in Brantwood, Wisconsin, on December 1, 1933, the son of Gustave and Julia (Hannula) Johnson. He served his country in the United States Army, and for two years was stationed in France. He was married to Sandra Rowe and they later divorced. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Prentice, and of the V.F.W.. He operated a dairy farm in Brantwood, was a truck driver, and also drove pulp truck. He enjoyed joking around with people, attending tractor pulls, and was a dog lover who always had two or three dogs at home.
He is survived to two step-sons, Robert Rowe, Phillips and Matt Rowe, Marathon County; by one brother, Elroy (Jean) Johnson, DePere, WI; and by two sisters, Carol (Bill) Johns, Brookfield, WI, and Karen (Fred) Cooke, ElCajon CA. He is preceded in death by one step-son, Troy Rowe; and by two sisters, Lois and Nancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 30, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice with Pastor Gary Uttech officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No 122 of Phillips. Interment will be in the Prentice Cemetery in Prentice.
