Gerald "Jerry" F. Dowdle, age 77, of N10600 Norway Pine Trail, Tomahawk, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at his home under hospice care.
Jerry was born on January 25, 1938 in Crookston, Minnesota. He was married to Mary Lou "Missey" Peters at Glenview Naval Air Station in Glenview, Illinois on February 23, 1991. Jerry served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring as Petty Officer 1st Class. He served two tours in Viet Nam on numerous Navy ships, and he was aboard the USS Newport News during the North Atlantic Goodwill tour. Following retirement from the Navy, Jerry was employed as an assistant property manager in a condo village in Chain O Lakes, Illinois for several years. He and Missey loved traveling in their motorhome. They settled in Tomahawk in 2009. Jerry enjoyed shooting pool and playing in the Thursday Senior Men's Golf league at Inshalla.

Jerry is further survived by 7 Granddaughters, Candice, Pamela, Tiffany, Jessica, Linsey, Alicia and Jenelle. 3 Grandsons, Jacob, Alex and Eric and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services with military rites will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Funeral Home Friday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00 p.m.
