Gerald "Jerry" L. Rexroade

Gerald, “Jerry” Rexroade, age 82, of Lac du Flambeau died December 8 surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born March 5, 1938 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Kenneth and Betty Rexroade. He married the love of his life, Sylvia, “Silver” Whitmore on December 1, 1962. Jerry and Silver had two children and Jerry worked as a plant engineer for Bendix corporation. In 1976, the love of the Northwoods beckoned them to move their family to Lac du Flambeau where they owned and operated Silver Beach Resort. It has been a labor of love for them giving generations of families treasured vacation memories for the last 45 years.

Jerry was also an avid dog lover, breeding and training chocolate Labradors for field trials for many years. He could often be seen driving his truck with his trusty companion Gus by his side.

Jerry was a proud man, devoted to his family, always wanting to be sure everyone was happy and healthy. His biggest source of pride was his five grandsons, and he attended many races, athletic games and programs over the years cheering them on.

He is survived by his wife of 58 blessed years, Silver, son, Christopher and daughter Rebecca (Todd) Van Natta, both of Minocqua, and grandsons Alex, Joshua, Michael, Adam and Jacob and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI on Saturday December 12th from 2:00 to 3:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM
