Gerald Kurth Sr., age 81, W7868 Hwy. 86, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his residence under Ministry Home Hospice Care.
Jerry was born December 10, 1931 in Medford, the son of Paul & Agatha (Weyers) Kurth. He married Dorothy Jandrey April 23, 1955 in Ely, Minnesota; she passed away in 2005. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in the Korean War. Jerry was a self-employed logger all of his life. He also worked for Tomahawk Power & Pulp and cut wood for Arnott Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and was an avid Green Bay Packer & Milwaukee Brewer fan. Jerry was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Jerry is further survived by 36 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and his siblings: Barbara Silvernail of Milwaukee, Donald Kurth of Texas, James Kurth of Phillips, Harold (Florence) Kurth of Pewaukee, Anthony (Karen) Kurth of Munising, MI, Michael (Pauline) Kurth of Catawba & Judy (Gary) Hanson of Powers, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, one brother, one sister and three grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Tribute Service for Gerald Kurth will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Friday, January 4th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
