Gerald "Jerry" Steinbach, Sr., age 73, W916 US Hwy. 8, Brantwood, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence under the care of his family and home hospice care.
Jerry was born August 4, 1940 in Tomahawk, the son of Emil and Emma (Webie) Steinbach. He was first married to Carol Heikkinen on April 25, 1959 in Tomahawk; she passed away in 1970. He later married Sandra Pajala on June 12, 1971 in Brantwood. Jerry worked first with Tomahawk Boat Factory, then as a welder with Omark Industries in Prentice, and later with LaFont Industries in Prentice. He also worked as a logger, and as a welder with Gustafson Logging. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: wife, Sandy Steinbach, Brantwood; children, Debra (Raymond) Mark, Minocqua, Gerald (BJ) Steinbach, Jr., Prentice, John Steinbach, Ogema, Raymond (Amy) Steinbach, Brantwood; sisters, Irene Rowe, Lake Villa, Illinois, Mary Ann (Marshall) Streib, Waukegan, Illinois, Rosalie Smith, Tomahawk, Eva (Donald) Taff, Florence. Jerry is further survived by four grandchildren - Sadie, Isaac, Jeremy, and Brian, and three great grandchildren - Autumn, Guylan, and Archer. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife - Carol, son - Darryl, three brothers - Elmer, Rudy, and Bud, and two sisters - Dorothy and Audrey.
Funeral Services for Jerry Steinbach, Sr. will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
