Gladys Ladwig

Gladys C. Ladwig, 88, 8116 Big St. Germain Drive, St. Germain, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff. Gladys was born June 28, 1919 in Beaver Dam one of thirteen children to William and Minnie (nee Braatz) Callies. She married Vincent Ladwig on September 26, 1940. He passed away in 1991. Gladys and Vincent owned and operated Ladwig's Cottages on Lake Alice for many years. She also ran an amusement machine route in the area for many years. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, and coin collecting. Survivors include: 1 Son Ken Ladwig of St. Germain 3 Daughters Jane (Carey) Ward Linda Groveau both of Tomahawk Betty Ladwig of St. Germain 1 Sister Evelyn (Donald) Scharschmidt of Florida 1 Brother Reuben (Rose Ann) Callies of Fox Lake Gladys is further survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband - Vincent, and 10 brothers & sisters. Funeral Services for Gladys Ladwig will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Rev. Ken Guy will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
