GLADYS RUKA
Gladys M. Ruka, 101, Prentice, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillps on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. She was born on July 17, 1918, in Ogema, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Marie (Hollander) Clarin. She attended the Sunnyside School in Ogema, and then was employed in Chicago, Illinois from 1937 to 1941. She was married to Lloyd Ruka on August 18, 1941, in Missouri. They made their home in Price County following their marriage, they lived in Prentice from 1945 to 2006, and then moved to Phillips in 2006 She was employed as a seamstress and waitress for many years. In her free time she enjoyed collecting pine cones, gardening, especially vegetables.
She is survived by four children, Arlene Loring, Annette (Tony) Oliver, Dale (Donna), and Donn (JoDee); by 7 grandchildren, and by great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, on February 3, 2009; and by two brothers.
Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Ogema.
The Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
