Gladys M. Taves, 98, of W3970 County Highway D, Tomahawk, entered into her Lord’s welcoming arms Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Golden Living-Riverview where she had been a resident for a short time.
Gladys was born on May 20, 1918 in Tomahawk to Edward and Ruth (Sawdy) Kaphaem. She was married to Harold A. Taves, Sr. on May 3, 1949 also in Tomahawk. He passed away in 1983. Gladys was an unwavering and devout member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was active in the Dorcas Society, funeral committee, vacation bible school, choir, and bible classes through the years. She was her children’s, grandchildren’s, and great grandchildren’s greatest sports fan. She was able to stay in her home because of love and care of her granddaughter, Melanie and her husband, Duane.

Gladys is further survived by her church family, especially James and Marge Sauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, sister, Ruthie Wolf, brother, Charles, great granddaughter, Kelsi Marie Lund, great grandson, Dylan Thomas Lund, and many other family members and friends.
Funeral Services for Gladys Taves will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home Sunday, August 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
