GLEN RICHARD ‘WILLIE’ MELVILLE
Glen R. “Willie” Melville, 91, Phillips, died on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips after a brief illness. He was born on June 23, 1923, in Chippewa Falls, Wi., the son of Levi and Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Melville. He attended the Bluff School, in the Township of Lafayette, Chippewa County. He then went to work on the family farm. He served his country during WW2 in the U.S. Navy. He married Felice “Fi Fi” Kufnowski on June 18, 1955, in South Milwaukee. They were to celebrate their 60th Weddings Anniversary this year. He was employed at Madison Silos and then at Bucyrus-Erie in South Milwaukee until the time of his retirement in 1983. They then made their home in the Phillips area.
In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Milwaukee Moose Lodge #49 and the Lane-Kreiling American Legion Post #122, Phillips.
He is survived by his wife Felice “Fi Fi”, Phillips, by 2 brothers: Donald (Bonita) Wisconsin Rapids, and James (Mary) Pewaukee, and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by 2 sisters: Naomi Lloyd and Della Meville
and by 5 brothers: Eugene, Kenneth, Duane, Phillip and John .
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips, with Fr. Gerald Hagen officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Patricks Cemetery, Phillips. Friends may call after 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 1, 2015, at the church until the time of the service. Military Honors will be conducted by the
Frank and Michael VFW Post #5778 and the Lane-Kreiling American Legion Post #`122, Phillips presiding.
A Memorial Fund has been established for the St. Therese of Lisieux Building Fund.
