Gloria Rita Havranek

Gloria Rita Havranek, 84, of Minocqua, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2019 at the Seasons of Life Hospice House surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 20, 1934 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Wallace and Rose (Tomasek) Sitarz. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and while attending Carl Shurz High School met her future husband Ronald Havranek.

They were married on October 9, 1954 in Chicago and settled in Mt. Prospect, IL where they raised two daughters and lived happily until retirement. Their hope of moving to Minocqua became reality when they built their dream home just down the shoreline from where they vacationed every summer.

Gloria was a loving and devoted wife and mother who loved her family and pets more than anything. She loved all things related to nature especially her backyard birds and hummingbirds, and was an avid gardener. She had a peaceful spirit and a heart of gold.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 60 years Ronald. She is survived by daughter Linda Havranek; daughter Cindy (Joe) Lindeman; sister-in-law Marjorie Jung; nephews Barry and Dennis (Pat) Jung; niece Joan (Steve) Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.

A very special thank you to everyone at Seasons of Life Hospice House who so adoringly helped care for Mom. You are all truly angels.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held this summer with family and friends.
