Grace Utech

Grace Utech, age 94, N11899 Cty. Rd. L, Tomahawk, passed away May 31, 2010 at home under hospice care. Grace was born May 24, 1916 in Ringle, the daughter of Henry and Minne (Yach) Sonntag. She was raised the in Ringle area, where she attended school. She lived most of her adult life in the Milwaukee area, and was a long-time member of St. Matthias Catholic Church in West Allis. She married Vernon Utech on October 31, 1934 at St. Florian's Catholic Church in Hatley; he passed away in 1970. Grace was a member of the Christian Mothers, St. Anne's Sodality in Milwaukee, and also volunteered at other various organizations in the Milwaukee area. She moved to Tomahawk in 2004. She enjoyed fishing, the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and looming - knitting caps, mittens, and quilts for the poor. Survivors include: Daughter Karin Kennedy Tomahawk Sons Donald (Mary) Utech Bayside Ken (Christine) Utech Green Bay Sister Gladys Meidl Aniwa Brother Vilas Sonntag Wausau Grace is further survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Vernon, and son in law - Terry Kennedy in 2002. A Funeral Service for Grace Utech will be held locally at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010 from Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the Service at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Mass for Grace will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 from St. Matthias Catholic Church in West Allis. Fr. Dennis Witz will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, June 11th from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the St. Matthias Church Cemetery.
