Gregory L. Rosenthal, 43, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 27, 2018. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, son and brother. Greg worked tirelessly and passionately, serving others as a flight paramedic for 14 years, a job he loved to the end. For many years, he was a volunteer firefighter and first responder for the Kronenwetter Fire Department. Greg will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and we look forward to being reunited with him in Heaven.
He was born on October 11, 1974 and baptized on February 23, 1975. In May of 1988, Greg was confirmed in his faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minocqua. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua. In May of 1992, he graduated from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, Wisconsin. On September 8, 2000, he married the love of his life, Cathi Wilkening in Milwaukee and together had four beautiful children.
Among his favorite pastimes, he loved hunting and fishing with his children and riding his Harley Davidson.
Survivors include, his wife, Cathi Rosenthal and children, Tristan, Kaylen, Taylor and Hayden; his parents, Ernie and Diane Rosenthal; one brother, Special Forces Officer Sgt 1st Class Michael (Christiana) Rosenthal; father and mother-in-law, James and Mary Wilkening; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Nimsgern Funeral Home, Woodruff, WI. Rev. John Kuske will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home in Woodruff. Burial will follow at the Forest Garden Cemetery in Woodruff.
A Christian Memorial Service will be held in the Milwaukee area at a later date.
Greg had touched many lives as a paramedic and many will live on because of him.
