HARLAN FRENCH
Harlan Curtis French, 87, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips while under the care of his family and Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. He was born on June 3, 1929, in Cushing, Wisconsin, the son of Harry and Arvilla French. He attended and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. He taught at the Phillips High School in Phillips for his entire teaching career, teaching History and Drivers Education. He was a member of the Phillips Educational Association, and was well known in the community for his work as a volunteer.
He is survived by his wife June (nee Johnson); by four children, Kathleen (Francis “Butch”) Carl, Thomas French, Jeanine (Robert) Philippon, and John Terry; by six grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel, Hillary, Neal, Rachelle, and Casey and two great grandchildren, Ruby and Cooper; and by two sisters, Elverna (Robert) Blomgren and Corinne (Duane) Nelson.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
