Harold Tesch

Harold Tesch, age 83, of Tomahawk, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Harold Tesch was born on January 17, 1940 in Gleason to William and Alvina (Hintze) Tesch. He was married to Phyllis Miller on February 20, 1960 in Gleason. She preceded him in death in 2019. Harold and Phyllis lived and worked in Aurora, IL area for most of their lives, retiring in 2004 to the Tomahawk area. Harold worked various jobs, with his longest job at Johnson Controls for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Phoenix Club, Irish Club, Turners Club, and Athletic Club. He was also a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Harold loved working on small engines, NASCAR, fishing with Phyllis and watching animals at the bird feeder. He shared his love of polka music with those around him, often playing polka music throughout his home. Harold and Phyllis took cruises to follow the polka bands they loved, especially Molly B.

Harold is survived by his two sons, Michael (Sarah) Tesch and Timothy Tesch; his brothers Alvin Tesch, Gary (Susan) Tesch, and Neil (Sally) Tesch; and his sisters Florine Taylor, Darlene (Floyd) Albright, and Janet Tesch; and five grandchildren: Billy (Caitlin) Tesch, Leah Tesch, Scott Welling, Nicole Welling, and Ryan Sanders; and three great-grandchildren, Addie (5), Lizzie (2 ½), and Evan (1). Harold is preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, sisters Helen Tesch, Hazel Raatz, Carol Rosenau, and brothers Edward Tesch and Hilbert Tesch, and grandson Robbie Tesch.

The Memorial Service for Harold will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Krueger Family Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 11:00 AM with service to follow at 12:00PM. Pastor Mark Gass will officiate. Harold will be buried at a later date next to Phyllis in Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the town of Nokomis.
