HARVEY ‘BOOFER’ BADER
Harvey “Boofer” Bader, 81 Township of Harmony, died on Monday, February 2, 2015, at House of the Dove Hospice Center, Marshfield.
He was born on July 13, 1933, in Phillips, the son of Harvey and Jeannette (Soetebeer) Bader. He spent his early life and schooling in the Phillips area. He attended and graduated from Phillips High School, Class of 1951.
He was married to the love of his life Joyce Kirmse on Nov. 7, 1953.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 in the Military Police and in the reserves from 1958 to 1962.
He was employed by C &NW Railroad for 36 years as an agent and in labor relations then at Wisconsin Central Railroad for 7 years in transportation and safety departments. He retired to the Township of Harmony with his wife Joyce in 1994.
In his free time he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed competition hunting dogs deer hunting in Wisconsin and Montana. and restoring vehicles.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Joyce, Township of Harmony, and by 1 brother: Ronald (Frances) , Slinger, Wi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by 1 brother Gary, and by a special nephew Craig Bader..
A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, Kennan, with Pastor John Trewyn officiating. Inurnemt will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Township of Harmony in the spring.Military Honors will be conducted by the Southern Price County VFW Post #8491. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
