HELEN COWAN
Helen C. Cowan, 93, Town of Harmony, died at her home, the home that she was born in, on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. She was born on November 26, 1921, in the Town of Harmony to Anton and Anna (Gura) Lach. She was married to George Cowan in Chicago, Illinois, on February 2, 1963. She and George were employed by the Sunbeam Corporation in Chicago until the time of their retirement. Following their retirement in 1977 they made their home on the Lach homestead in the Town of Harmony. She was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church of Phillips. In her free time she enjoyed reading, baking, and caring for her home..
She is survived by one sister, Ann Perger, Wausau, WI, by one sister-in-law, Louise Lach, and by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on January 30, 1999. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Andy, Stanley, and Mike Lach, and by one sister, Mary Lach.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 25, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Inurnment will be in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Helen’s name to the charity of your choice.
