Helen Mehle

Helen Marie Mehle, age 100 of Woodruff, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff, Wisconsin. Helen was born on March 7, 1912 in Austria, Hungary the daughter of Frank and Margaret (nee Greif) Heuer. Helen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a former member of Lakeland Senior Center and she was an avid card player and liked going to the casino. She loved crocheting and making afghans and knitting scarfs and gloves for the less fortunate children. Helen loved God and her family and will be deeply missed. She was the beloved wife of the late Mel for over 50 years, cherished mother of Janet (Norman) Then and Daniel (Marjorie) Mehle. Precious grandmother of Ellen (Richard) Hurt, Edward Then Sr., Lauren (Kevin) Hughes, Michael (Sharon) Then, Roxann (Curt) Bersche, Diane Fritch and Russell Mehle. Loving great-grandmother to Edward Jr. (Lauren) Then, Joshua Then, Kristin (Reid) Conklen, Daniel Hurt, Phillip and Michael Cazares, Adam & Austin Fritch. Great-great grandmother to Natalie Then, “Grandma Mehle” to many! Visitation for Helen will be held at Freidrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect on Thursday, January 17th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 18th at 11:00 AM at St. Marceline Catholic Church in Schaumburg, IL with internment at St. Josephs Cemetery in River Grove, IL.
