IDA M. PARPART
Ida M. Parpart, 88, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice on Thursday, October 10, 2019. She was born Ida Mae Gehring in the Town of Kennan, on May 1, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Huven) Gehring. Ida attended the Riley Grade School and then graduated from the Phillips High School. She was married to Walter Parpart in September 1954, in Kannan, Wisconsin. She was employed by Lake Superior Power Company and Omark Industries. She also served many years as the Town of Georgetown Clerk. In 1973 she owned and operated the Wards Retail Store in downtown Phillips until the time of its sale. She then began Ida’s Floral and Crafts. She also was an insurance agent for Rural Mutual Insurance Company until the time of her retirement.
Ida loved to do drawings, photo tinting, floral arrangements, painting, cooking and crafting of all sorts. She was very fond of traveling with adventures to Florida, Atlantic City and Branson MS. She spent many winters in Hudson, FL, and summers in Phillips and Tomah with special friend, Donald Fowler, Sr.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Kathy) Parpart, Kennan, and Ronald (Melody) Parpart, Phillips; by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sisters Lila (Edward) Lasee, Philli[ps, Mary (Robert) Rosandich, Rockford, IL, and brother, Thomas Gehring, Tomahawk, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1973; by her parents, Joseph and Frances Gehring; by brother, Joseph Gehring Jr; and by special friend, Donald Fowler Sr.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in the Kennan Cemetery in Kennan.
