Irene E. White

Irene E. White, age 91, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Golden Living - Riverview Nursing Home. Irene was born on July 22, 1924 in Brantwood to John & Agnes (Hannula) Kangas. Irene was married to Nathan Fryar; he preceded her in death. Later, she married George White; he also preceded her in death. Irene lived in Chicago for a little while before returning to the Tomahawk area. She and her second husband, George, owned and operated White's Bar in the town of Nokomis for many years. Irene enjoyed flower gardening, feeding birds, her pets and watching Nascar. She was a faithful and devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church. Irene is survived by 2 sisters Bertha Herbst of Park Falls Joyce Halverson of Tomahawk Step Son, Gary (Judy) White of Tomahawk She is further survived by 2 step grandchildren, 4 great step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, a sister and a brother. A graveside service is planned for Irene White at 11:00AM on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. Pastor Don Cannady will officiate.
