Jack J. Marinich, Sr., 95, Town of Elk, died Thursday, July 21, 2022. He was born November 30, 1926, in Chicago, IL, the son of Jacob and Mary (Lukanich) Marinich.
Jack married Helen Plucinski on September 17, 1949, and were married 60 years before her passing. Jack served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as an Airplane Mechanic. He was stationed in Germany during World War II. He was employed by Western Electric in Cicero, Il, and retired Teletype Corporation, a division of Western Electric, in 1979. After retirement, the family relocated to Soo Lake, where Jack enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, canning, cooking, and especially spending time with his family. Jack was a proud member of the VFW 5778, the VFW Honor Guard, and a member of the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Diane (Russell) Ciscon, Town of Elk; two sons, Thomas of San Diego, CA, and Jack Jr., Town of Elk.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; and parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 655 S. Lake Ave, Phillips, WI, 54555, with Fr. Lourdu officiating. A visitation will be held the night prior, Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at the Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips, WI, 54555. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Phillips.
