Jack N. Jarvensivu, age 72, N5474 River Road, Brantwood, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at his residence under Flambeau Home Health and Hospice Care.
Jack was born August 7, 1940 in Brantwood, the son of Nestor and Mathilda (Mantyla) Jarvensivu. He married Carol Crass on July 20, 1963 in Tomahawk. Jack was a graduate of Tripoli High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1958 - 1961. He was employed with the welding and maintenance departments for 30 years with Prentice Hydraulics/Omark Industries/Blount in Prentice, retiring in 1992. Jack was a former Town of Knox Assessor, and a founding member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice, where he served on various committees. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball, and coached little league for many years.

Jack is further survived by eight grandchildren, Miranda (Kyle) Steliga, Mallory Freeman, Jacob, Jared, and Justin Jarvensivu, Trevor, Jalen, and Kason Maki, three great grandchildren, Lexi, Byndi, and Braxtyn Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
A Memorial Service for Jack Jarvensivu will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice. The VFW of Prentice will perform Military Rites. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m.
